Simple Wisdom Tip #41: Write it down!

One of the best habits I picked up over the years is to make notes after meetings and phone calls. This is a no-brainer for one’s work but it is also useful to enhance personal relationships. A wonderful way to be interested in others – especially those whom you don’t see often – is to remember what you learned about them in previous encounters.  In one’s work, it is a best practice to write down what was agreed to at various meetings so you’ll be clear about who is to do what by when. This will help you professionally.  I love the old Chinese proverb: The palest ink is better than the best memory. It’s true! The one who has the notes has the advantage.
